A life estate, is a term used in common law to describe the ownership of land for the duration of a person's life. In legal terms it is an estate in real property that ends at death. The owner of a life estate is called a "life tenant".

African Americans show an unwavering loyalty towards the Democratic Party.
Recent voting demographics for African Americans suggest an overwhelming propensity to cast ballots in favor of Democratic candidates in presidential elections. Since 1964 this tendency has gained momentum and as the 2008 race comes closer, perhaps a larger number of African American voters will cast Democratic ballots than ever before.

When I think of such phrases as “support black business” or “buy black“, I often wonder what is our expectation of doing this. For years when I would discuss this with fellow black Americans, it appears that the expectation is to create an economic network that is similar to other close knit ethnic groups (Asians, Jews, Mexicans, Italians, etc.). Although this is something that I certainly want to see, I also believe that there are some very important issues that are keeping this from becoming a relality. One of those issues has to do with family & communtiy structure.

Black America is still one of the most conservative groups of people in America, especially the older ones. They are God fearing and church going, they are against abortion and homosexuality, they tend to stick to their traditional ways even if it was a method to survive adversity, they still stick to their traditional foods even if they are considered unhealthy, and they still believe in family even though the man maybe absent. If this is the case, why then, do Blacks vote Democrat?
